Bernay-the father of public relations?

Bernays established ample public relations principles in “Crystallizing Public Opinion,” in 1923. He stood out to me as a historic figure in public relations because the principles in this book are still being used today. He belived that corportations should accept the idea of social responsibility, which led him to refuse to work with unethical clients. This is important to me because I also think the idea of corporate spcial responsibility is extremely important. Some of the concepts he created relates to what we are learning in class as well. For example, that public relations should promote new ideas and progress, and it should build a public conscience.

Bernays has established many concepts and principles for public relations that are still in use today. This is why I consider him the father of public relations.

Who would you call the father of PR?
